My name is Catalina Maria Lapeira Gerlein. I am 24 years old, I was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia. I am a professional architect. Since I was little I have identified myself as an artist, however my dedication began to be constant since 2020 when I began to explore computer keys which have been my medium until now. A little over a year ago, I opened my art studio in Barranquilla, where I work and exhibit my most recent works.

I explore computer keys in terms of their three-dimensional shape and their daily communicative use. The use of keys in my works seeks to reuse their communicative purpose but with differentiating messages. Additionally, my works also seek to redefine their primitive order and play with their three-dimensionality to generate optical effects that uncover and highlight the messages that the work communicates.
