Margarita Cancino

Plastic artist from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá - 2023) graduated from the Master's in Cultural Management and Art Management and Related Businesses from the Universidad de Nebrija (Madrid- 2018)

Her skills cover topics such as experiential education, art history, and coordination of cultural projects in Colombia. She has worked for more than nine years in the field of visual arts in Colombia and the United States.

Since 2021, she has dedicated herself to working in the studio developing multiple series of paintings in which she uses different materials to create "visual maps" that follow her own movements. A kind of personal therapy in The colors she uses are a reflection of the light on the earth, allowing her to explore sensations and emotions that nourish each of her compositions, building them step by step.

I believe in the power of art as a tool to transform life. Art has the unique ability to communicate emotions, provoke deep reflections, and connect people on a deeper level. It can inspire, motivate and change the way we see our surroundings and ourselves. It can also be a form of personal expression, allowing people to convey their thoughts, feelings and experiences in a special way.

I am interested in being a channel for people who work in my workshop to experience a kind of catharsis and a pause in the daily routine, an opportunity to explore new perspectives.

The transformative power of what I do lies in its ability to connect with shared humanity and inspire us to be more conscious, empathetic and creative in our lives.
